Becoming a ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ Student:

We want you to succeed andÌýachieve your goalsÌýand so require that all new and transfer students complete the matriculation process as follows:

  • Ìý
  • Complete a New Student Orientation
  • Complete theÌýÌýor Submit TranscriptsÌý
  • Meet with a Counselor - A counseling appointment can be scheduled after the above steps are completed.Ìý The counselor will assist in the selection of an appropriate program of study and develop an education plan to guide you in course selection to achieve your goal.Ìý Appointments can be made by emailing veterans@mendocino.edu orÌýcounselingappointments@mendocino.edu
  • Schedule an appointment with the School Certifying Official - The School Certifying Official will answer questions about your educational benefit, verify the education plan developed meets VA standards, and submit the certification of your enrollment to the VA so that you can begin receiving your benefit.Ìý Certification of your enrollment to the VA is only completed upon your request.Ìý For an appointment, please email:Ìýveterans@mendocino.eduÌý

Students actively using Chapter 30, Chapter 31, Chapter 33, or Chapter 35 educational benefits are exempt from paying nonresident tuition regardless of when the Veteran separated from the military.Ìý If you are deemed a non-resident at the time of admission, please complete the and submit proof of current California residence and your Certificate of Eligibility to the Admissions and Records Office.

Evaluation and Credit for Transfer Work:

Upon request, ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ will evaluate and award credit for coursework completed at accredited colleges and universities as well as military experience, completion of CLEP and AP, and for industry credentials.Ìý Review pages 68-72 of the current ºÚÁÏÕýÄÜÁ¿ catalog for additional details.

Certification of Enrollment to the VA:

Certification for VA educational benefits each semester is not automatic.Ìý Students who wish to receive the benefit must complete the required paperwork with the School Certifying Official and submit a certification request each semester:
