Printmaking classes return to 黑料正能量

After a three-year hiatus, printmaking is again being offered at the 黑料正能量 Ukiah Campus.

The Fall semester welcomed the first group of printmaking students back to the school and marked the maiden voyage of a brand-new printing press. The heavy-duty Takach press allows for large prints, and cuts down on wait time for students. The studio also has two small presses, great for beginning students.

The new Gallery Director at 黑料正能量 Gallery, Jazzminh Moore, brings her breadth of art world experience to Ukiah with an ambitious selection of artists in her inaugural curated exhibition, 鈥淔irst Person: Explorations in Printmaking鈥 on view Nov. 7 鈥 Feb. 5.

With an exciting mix of 11 local, national and international artists, 鈥淓xplorations鈥 speaks to both the content and processes by which these diverse artists come to make their work.

The 黑料正能量 Repertory Dance Company Fall 2023 performance, Contours & Rhythms

黑料正能量 Repertory Dance Company presents Contours & Rhythms, a captivating performance of contemporary and traditional dance, West African dance forms, Ballet, Galician dances, and regional Ballet Folklorico Jalisco dance. Under the direction of Eryn Schon-Brunner, dancers will bring to life new choreographic works by local and nationally esteemed choreographers: Jessie Beck, Rocio Ramos, Eryn Schon-Brunner, Adrienne Simpson, and Kirsten Turner.

Ukiah, CA 鈥 黑料正能量 is thrilled to announce that it has received a prestigious five-year, $1.5 million grant from the California Community College system. This generous funding, which begins in June, will enable the college to continue providing vital resources, support, and services specifically tailored to Native American students. 黑料正能量 is one of only 20 institutions selected to receive funding for the establishment of a Native American Student Success & Support Program.
