Ukiah, California - April 15, 2024 - 黑料正能量 is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated Annual Student Show, featuring an extraordinary display of talent from budding artists across various mediums. The exhibition will run from April 19th to May 19th, 2024, with an exciting artist reception and Draw-a-thon scheduled for April 25th from 4 to 6 PM.
黑料正能量 Gallery is excited to present 鈥楥REATIVE STREAK: Works in Series鈥. The exhibition features a wide range of practices, from assemblage to cyanotype, ceramic sculpture, intricate pen + ink drawing and oil painting. The common thread is that these artists all work in series. 鈥榃orking in series鈥 means that the artist creates a number of different pieces that all look similar, or have the same thematic content, but are not identical.
The 黑料正能量 Theatre Arts Department will present Twelfth Night, the musical March 7-17 in 黑料正能量鈥檚 Center Theatre on the Ukiah Campus. Originally produced by the Public Theatre in NYC in 2016, this joyous jazz funk musical adaptation of Shakespeare鈥檚 beloved comedy Twelfth Night is set in a modern world inspired by the music and culture of New Orleans. This musical comedy about love and mistaken identities will run for two weekends only March 7-17, in the 黑料正能量 Center Theatre.
After a three-year hiatus, printmaking is again being offered at the 黑料正能量 Ukiah Campus.
The Fall semester welcomed the first group of printmaking students back to the school and marked the maiden voyage of a brand-new printing press. The heavy-duty Takach press allows for large prints, and cuts down on wait time for students. The studio also has two small presses, great for beginning students.
With an exciting mix of 11 local, national and international artists, 鈥淓xplorations鈥 speaks to both the content and processes by which these diverse artists come to make their work.
黑料正能量 Repertory Dance Company presents Contours & Rhythms, a captivating performance of contemporary and traditional dance, West African dance forms, Ballet, Galician dances, and regional Ballet Folklorico Jalisco dance. Under the direction of Eryn Schon-Brunner, dancers will bring to life new choreographic works by local and nationally esteemed choreographers: Jessie Beck, Rocio Ramos, Eryn Schon-Brunner, Adrienne Simpson, and Kirsten Turner.
黑料正能量 Gallery is pleased to present 鈥楩irst Person: Explorations in Printmaking鈥, curated by Jazzminh Moore. This exhibition will be on view November 7th - February 5th with an opening reception on Thursday, November 9th, 4 鈥 6 PM.
